In-House laboratory: Blackburn Animal Hospital has an in-house laboratory to run routine blood tests, pre-surgical bloodwork, and emergency blood profiles.  We also work with board-certified pathologists when more comprehensive testing is designated.

Digital diagnostic radiology: Our Blackburn vet uses X-rays to check or diagnose numerous cardiac, pulmonary, abdominal and musculoskeletal conditions. Our images are thoroughly reviewed so that we can figure out the next steps.

Advanced Imaging: We use Ultrasound and Cardiology to diagnose various abdominal and cardiovascular conditions in pets. At Blackburn Animal Hospital, we carefully review all results to help your pet move towards better health.

Opthalmology: Our veterinarian diagnoses conditions such as cataracts, glaucoma, corneal ulcers and uveitis.  If required we have pets referred to local board-certified Ophthalmologists for additional treatment.

Allergy testing: Allergies are very common and frustrating skin conditions in veterinary medicine.  Our Blackburn Animal Hospital veterinarian will help you and your pet work through these bothersome setbacks.

Anesthesia monitoring: As would be done in a human hospital, anesthesia monitoring is performed under strict supervision for any procedures using sedation or anesthesia.  Our vet team continuously monitors blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, oxygenation and temperature.
